ABOUT
Hi, I’m Alex and I can play the Monsters Inc. theme tune on the trumpet. Yes, I know you’re already impressed, but that aside I do actually have some other experience which I’d like to share...
In Summer 2019 I graduated with 1st Class Hons Degree in Music from the University of Manchester (Sunday Times Good University Guide’s highest-ranking music department in 2020). I’m super proud of this achievement and am delighted to say I’m now studying a Masters in Music Production & Sound Engineering at dBs Institute, Manchester.
I come from a very diverse musical background, beginning life as Head Chorister at Salisbury Cathedral which subsequently led me along the path to becoming a Music Scholar at Sherborne School in 2012. Here I played First Trumpet in Swing Bands and Orchestras whilst also leading the Barbershop Quartet and 100-man Choir as ‘Head of Choir’.
I spend most of my time writing songs and playing the piano too loud (according to my neighbour!), and love exploring different genres. I'm a keen producer and mixer too, integrating my experience in sound design and electroacoustic composition into my work.
Recently I have matured a passion for Film Music, having the pleasure of working for award-winning film composers Peter Bateman and Sunna Wehrmeijer. Here, I learned a skillset in several DAWs and studio techniques, whilst an insight into the industry has only enthused my passion further.
I am currently part of a two-man band, writing and producing cinematic pop tracks. Check us out at @twosariot. If you're keen to work with me on any future projects please do reach out!
